This outstanding article shines a light on search engine optimization practices that are sure to shock general readers. It's standard business practice as far as I'm concerned. There's nothing nefarious about SEO, it's just something that the general public doesn't know about.
One thing that I found particularly interesting about this article was their ongoing example of how all pages start to look the same and lack personality. My pages follow the same rules and, honestly, they have a generic feel. They also perform well and make me money.
